the bible and legos

For those of us that grew up with Religion, and even those that didn't, this is a fabulous way to truly understand the lessons, parables and messages from God's word.
My favorite so far is the section entitled...

The Law

I urge you to look through the other parts of the bible that is illustrated.
For whatever reason my sunday school teachers seemed to gloss over the fact that Abraham and Jacob had more than one wife, and concubines. Oh sure I know back in those days it was important to further your clan.

Summer Games

My daughter and I were talking about playing outdoor games this morn.
Hopscotch came up, and we couldn't exactly remember what the rules were. So with the help of the all knowing internet, I discovered this site...
it has lovely animated illustrations.

Hopscotch 101!

I also didn't know about the "house" part of the game. I was discussing with my lovely friend Denise, and we wondered if we ever even completed a game of Hopscotch?
We also used rocks as our markers, so the only thing you needed was a stick of chalk, or some mulch chips to draw the grid.

Other Favorite outdoor games,
Kick the Can
Red Rover
Sardines
TV Tag
Kick Ball

While looking up these games I came across this statement...
"Red rover" was very popular into the 1970s, but with the invention of other forms of entertainment for children (deriving mainly from electronic devices such as television and video games), the game has declined in its popularity and is primarily played on school or playgrounds, where such modern devices are not present.
Kinda sad...

Oh and Duck Duck Goose...
I saw a group of young kids playing this one day when I was on a lunch break and thought how much fun it would be to do this with big and little kids during a lunch break, recess if you will. It certainly would make the work day better in my opinion.
I tried to talk up reviving that game and possibly making it into a drinking game for the big kids.
I should revisit this.
